SAFETY

Piaintball players wear specifically designed goggles and facemasks to protect them from the possibility of paintball hits. 

The goggles and masks cannot be taken off in the area where paintball is being played or the shooting is allowed. 

The security rules are very strict and if you don't wear mask and goggless you are breaking a rule and the penalty is ejection from the game.  

Considering the fact that no physical contact is permitted in the game the risk of injury is very low. Paintball is a safe sport when it is played by the rules. You can also see it from the following statistic. It's even safer than golf! 

Does the hit hurt?
The small ball bursts when it tags the enemy and causes little pain. It's part of the game. Fortunatelly, it's not so bad as some people think. 

Is the colour washable?
The coulor that is in the paintball, can be easily removed by washing it with water and mild washing powder.The production of the color liquid is based on sugar. 

Without proper clothes and shoes that protect the body and the face you cannot play paintball. The security and safety of the players is the priority. 

The uniform that paintball clubs rent is the most recomandable.It completely protects the body and has extra-protection in the critical parts. If you cannot rent the uniform the list of following things will do:

• Track-suit
• Hat or a banndana
• High-collar, neckerchief
• Trainers or boots
• Gloves

FACEMASK

They completely protect the head, ears and eyes. One of the most important rules concerning the safety and security of the players is the prohibition of taking off the mask during the game. 

The masks is made of material which can resist a hit of 600 fps (180 m/s) which is more than enough because the maximum speed of the paintball is about 300 fps (90 m/s) 

MARKER

Markers are weapons specially made for paintball. There are differnt types of markers. They differ in design and technology and vary from base pump to high-tech self-loading.  

Pumpaction markers have a manual-pump mechanism. That means that after each shot the players have to reload the marker. 

Self - loading markers have automatic loading and the possibility to fire balls exactly when the player pulls the trigger.
Paintball markers may be powered by CO2, nitrogen or compressed air. Some of them have power system that use large refillable cylinders called 'tanks' or 'bottles, meaning they can shoot from 100 to 1000 balls without refilling. 

Even if the markers are ranked by design or specification, the speed of the ball is limited to the same value. Standard paintball rules require the mesurement of the paintball speed before the game begins. The international safety limit of the speed is 300 fps (90m/s).

PAINTBALLS

A paintball is a round capsule filled with coloured liquid. The capsule is made of a gelatine mixture, that is used in phamaceutical industry to produce vitamin capsules and bath beads
Many pharmaceutical companies produce paintball balls.For example, the biggest company of capsule production is R.P. Scherer, which first produced the paintball.Only in Europe, Asia and South America about a thousand million paintballs a year are produced. 

The paintball is filled with non-toxic, non-caustic, biodegradable and water soluable polypropilen glycol. The capsule doesn't taste good but swallowing 100 of them will cause only small digestive problems. 

When the paintball tags a player, it's thin capsule bursts, colour spills and marks the player. The colour stain has to be the size of 5 kuna coin to be counted as an elimination hit. It rinses out of clothing with water and mild soap.
